NORTH DAKOTA SUNSET PAINTING | "FLOODING FEARS" | CANVAS PRINT
North Dakota is a beautiful place with rolling fields as far as the eye can see, broken up by kettle lakes and small clusters of trees. While we were in North Dakota, one place we stayed was Grahams Island State Park at Devil's Lake. The lake keeps rising, 25 feet in the last decade. Will the lake keep rising? Homes, farm fields and Grahams island may be lost in the future. Meanwhile everyone fishes, the birds sing, and the plants keep growing. Sometimes I feel like I get lost in the fear of the future. With Createful Art I worry about it's success when I could be enjoying the moment I have right now to just create and grow. I felt anxious having to paint here. If I didn't have to worry about creating a video, the kids in the car, catching the sunset on canvas before it's gone, and not being good enough...well then I could relax. As I began painting, like always, I found my place to relax and find my refuge from my fears. I captured that place in this painting.
